Balancing Security and Liberty

Former Governor Jim Gilmore (R-VA) and Charlie Kirk participated in a debate on the issue of national security and privacy. Jim Gilmore said that we were at war with terrorists and the worst was coming. He defended the National Security Agency (NSA) and the government’s ability to track information. Charlie Kirk took the opposite view, saying that government intrusion was eroding our civil liberties.

“The Death of Privacy: Does It Matter if the Government Records Every Phone Call, E-Mail and Text Message That You Send?” was part of the Steamboat Institute’s sixth annual Freedom Conference at the Steamboat Grand Resort.
